Preparing for Surgery
The following information will assist you as you prepare for surgery at OrthoIndy Hospital. You can download a copy of our Preparing for Surgery book or read the information below.
A proper medical evaluation helps to reduce the risk of problems that may occur after surgery. These include blood clots, heart attack, stroke, breathing difficulties or infection.
Your surgeon may recommend that you schedule a PreAssessment Testing (PAT) visit with OrthoIndy hospitalists before your surgery. Our team of physicians and staff are trained to identify your risks for health problems related to the surgery and to reduce those risks so you may have a safe surgical experience.
