OrthoIndy physicians partner with the ORF to support their research interests

Founded in 1986, the Orthopaedic Research Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit dedicated to the advancement of science associated with musculoskeletal disorders. The physicians of OrthoIndy partner with the Orthopaedic Research Foundation to support their research and educational interests. The research staff facilitates and supervises both clinical trials and outcome studies. The ORF is instrumental in the preparation of abstracts, manuscripts, grant proposals, scientific posters and presentations, literature searches, local, regional and international conferences, outreach programs and multiple other research activities. In 2012, a learning lab was created at IOH where orthopaedic surgical techniques can be advanced and equipment can be evaluated.

“I believe that the Orthopaedic Research Foundation and its commitment to research is fundamental to keeping OrthoIndy and the Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital at the forefront of orthopaedic care,” said Matthew R. Lavery, MD, Chair of the Orthopaedic Research Foundation Board of Directors and an OrthoIndy total joint surgeon.  “To maintain the excellent level of patient care provided by OrthoIndy and the Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital, a continued commitment to research and education is essential.”  Only through scientific inquiry will new and improved methods of treatment be realized.
