Dr. Jonathan Shook graduated with distinction from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana in 1998. In 2002, he received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, Indiana. During medical school, he was elected to the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha, based on his high academic achievement. In 2007, Dr. Shook completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. During his residency, he received several awards, including Innovations in Orthopaedics Award, Certificate of Excellence in Research and the Charles M. Schwartz Traveling Fellow Award. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals in 2008.
Dr. Shook is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Indiana Orthopaedic Society.
He was the official orthopedic consultant for the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Final Four Tournament. Dr. Shook has served as a team physician at the University of Chicago. He was also a member of the medical team involved in the treatment of the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL.
Dr. Shook is actively involved in teaching and also volunteers his time with multiple organizations.
