Dr. Kayes graduated with honors from Indiana University in Bloomington in 1986. In 1990, he received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. In 1991, Dr. Kayes completed his residency in general surgery and in 1995, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery, both at Indiana University Medical School.
He then completed a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis in 1996. In 2016, he completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky.
Prior to joining OrthoIndy, Dr. Kayes was assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at Riley Children’s Hospital for nine years before he moved to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital for another nine years.
Dr. Kayes serves as an official orthopedic provider of the Indiana Fever. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, American Association of Pediatrics, Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America and American Academy of Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine.
