Meet Dr. Bill Cregar

Dr. Bill Cregar is an orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in complex knee, shoulder, and elbow surgery. Through his prior experiences as an assistant team physician for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, as well as a former NCAA Division I National Swimming Champion for the University of Georgia, Dr. Cregar has a unique understanding of the impact pain and limited mobility can have on one's ability to participate in activities they enjoy. Dr. Cregar and his Team are dedicated to educating each patient and developing an individualized treatment plan to restore mobility and function. Dr. Cregar’s ultimate goal is to return patients to doing what they love quickly and safely using state-of-the art treatment modalities in the least invasive manner possible.

Dr. Cregar is originally from New Jersey and attended the University of Georgia where he was captain of the swimming and diving team and a Division I NCAA Champion in the 400 I.M. He then earned his medical degree from VCU School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia, where he was chapter president of the prestigious medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Subsequently, he completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, which consistently ranks as a leader in the US for orthopedic care. During his residency, he was nominated to the American Orthopaedic Association Resident Leadership Forum and was chosen to represent the program as the Delegate to the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) Resident Assembly. Finally, Dr. Cregar completed his fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder/elbow surgery at the renowned OrthoCarolina program in Charlotte, North Carolina. While in Charlotte, he served as assistant team physician for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, the Charlotte Football Club (MLS), and the Charlotte Knights (MLB-AAA).
